OK, I got an interesting beer this weekend, Boddington's Pub Ale. In a can. With a widget.
I wish InBev, the owner of Boddington's, had a decent site, or any site at all, for the beer, but they don't.
The widget, invented for Guinness, does interesting things to beer. Check out the "action" shots of what happens:
The foam starts out evenly distributed through the beer.
Very quickly they all rise up to make a nice head. Here's what their widget looks like:
The thing that I didn't expect is, thanks to the widget, all of the carbonation was wrung out of the beer. The beer is still pretty good, it's just flat.
I took these picture with my new camera, I bought a thoroughly used Canon 20D off of EBay. I met a fellow blogger this summer who has one, and I had been half heartedly looking for a good deal since August. I am saving up for this lens because I can't afford this one any time soon.
