I know you have been waiting with baited breath to hear which french-door fridge we'll be buying.
We are going to buy the Amana model AFD2535DEW. It seemed like the best made refrigerator we looked at. The LG fridge, I think was more attractive, but the slide out freezer seemed much flimsier than the Amana. It didn't slide out cleanly and the bin in the freezer was plastic, vs a coated metal wire bin in the Amana.
Also, the LG's water in the door is a nice idea, but unlike in a side by side, the dispenser is only indented about 1/2" so it appeared to be pretty easy to miss the spigot and dump water on the floor.
The Amana's water inside the fridge is less convenient but is good enough.
The last advantage for the Amana is price. It is $200 cheaper than the LG.
As an aside, the Kenmore water in the door fridge is an LG. They look identical and have the same features. I have no idea why Consumer Reports couldn't figure that out and actually recommended the Kenmore because of their repair history vs the LG.
