Many Sony/BMG music CDs now contain windows software which installs hidden files, drivers and registry settings which you cannot easily uninstall. They are using rootkit technology to hide the files & settings so you can't see them using windows explorer.
Quite simply if you want a CD from a Sony artist, either buy it from the iTumes Music Store, or don't put it in your Windows PC to listen to. Interestingly, if you have a Mac or are running Linux you are unaffected and the CD plays normally. Amazon CD listings say if music CDs have content protection.
